Guinea pigs are social animals that do best in the pairs or groups. Even if the pigs are a different sex, or they don’t get along, they still like being close to others of their own kind. Many times, they are kept in isolation as an only piggie and live a very lonely existence.
Elliott was living in isolation at a local shelter for 6 months.
Chester (seen below), was also housed alone in his former situation, Thankfully, both piggies were friendly to each other and are able to be housed together.
They are now thriving, more outgoing and enjoying each other’s company.
